The leaves are changing, the days feel shorter, and just like that—we’ve entered October. Not only is this the sixth day of a new month, it’s also the start of the 4th quarter.
For many, the last stretch of the year feels overwhelming. Between your 9–5 job, family responsibilities, and the Kingdom work God has placed on your heart, it can feel like there’s simply not enough time. But here’s the good news: finishing strong in the 4th quarter isn’t about adding more to your plate—it’s about making intentional choices and aligning with God’s priorities.
Why the 4th Quarter Matters
The final months of the year are an opportunity to:
-
Reflect on how far you’ve come.
-
Reset your focus on what matters most.
-
Position yourself for a strong start to the new year.
Think of it like a runner’s final stretch—this is the moment to lean in, sharpen your focus, and push with intention.
5 Ways to Create Time in the 4th Quarter
Here are some practical and faith-filled ways to redeem your time and maximize this season:
1. Redeem the Margins
Look for hidden pockets of time—early mornings, carpool lines, or evenings after the kids are in bed. Even 20 minutes a day dedicated to your God-given assignment adds up to hours over the month.
2. Say “No” to the Lesser Yes
Every “yes” comes with a tradeoff. Protect your energy by turning down commitments that don’t align with what God is calling you to build in this season.
3. Involve Your Family in the Vision
Your Kingdom assignment doesn’t have to compete with your family. Invite your spouse or children to pray with you, brainstorm, or help with small tasks. When the vision is shared, the burden feels lighter.
4. Integrate, Don’t Compartmentalize
Turn everyday moments into opportunities for growth. Listen to Scripture, podcasts, or worship while cooking, driving, or exercising. This keeps your spirit fed even in busy seasons.
5. Rest and Reset
Rest is not wasted time—it’s multiplication time. Sabbath was God’s design to refresh, restore, and equip you to keep building with strength and clarity.
A Book That Changed My Framework
One book that has been tremendous in reshaping my mindset—and even served as part of the modality and framework for my Deliverance & Dominion Strategy—is The Slight Edge by Jeff Olson.
This book teaches the power of small, consistent daily choices. It shows how those seemingly “little things” are what create massive results over time. That principle is not only practical—it’s deeply spiritual. In God’s Kingdom, it’s often the consistent, faithful, unseen steps that lead to breakthrough.
If you’re looking for a resource to help you reframe how you see time, discipline, and consistency in this 4th quarter, I highly recommend it. You can grab your copy here
Reflection for This Season
As you step into the 4th quarter, ask yourself:
👉 What’s one intentional shift I can make this month to finish strong?
Whether it’s waking up 30 minutes earlier, saying no to a draining commitment, or involving your family in prayer over your assignment—small, intentional shifts create lasting impact.
Final Word
The 4th quarter is not just a countdown to the end of the year—it’s a setup for what God wants to do next. Don’t let distractions or saboteurs steal your clarity. Instead, commit to stewarding your time with intention, aligning your heart with God, and trusting Him to multiply your efforts.
Remember: you won’t always “find” time—you’ll make it. And when you surrender your time to God, He has a way of multiplying it in ways you never imagined.
✨ Question for You: What’s one shift you’ll make this October to step into alignment and finish strong? Share it in the comments—I’d love to hear from you.
